Crafty Business April & May

Because we love planning and we're sure some of you do too we figured it's only fair that we share with you in advance some of the topics we will be covering at future Crafty Business sessions. We have settled on the subject matter for our April and May gatherings and we hope you'll join us.

The Price of Genius
April 6 2009, 7pm, Churchills Public House, Sydenham, Christchurch
It's easy to put a price on time, materials and other relevant production costs but what is the cost of your inspiration, the skills you've developed, your creative talent and your knowledge? Combine this with the fear of overcharging or undercharging your customers you have one big headache. If only there was a simple way to price your handmade goods! It’s not an exact science and no one formula works for everyone but we'll share with you some pricing ideas that will have you running straight home to your Casio

Selling at Craft Fairs
May 4 2009, 7pm, Churchills Public House, Sydenham, Christchurch
Craft 2.0 is next month and in the lead up we'll discuss craft fair basics. The information we'll give is applicable to any craft fair but it's a timely topic given that Craft 2.0 may be the first major Craft Fear (pun intended) for some. We'll show you that there's nothing to be scared of and a whole heap of things to be excited about. We'll give you some tips and tricks for satisfying your adoring public and we'll do everything we can to help make sure selling at craft fairs is a rewarding and profitable experience.

Although we've got a bunch of subjects up our sleeves that we plan to focus on over the course of the year and beyond we're always interested in hearing about topics that you'd like to know more about and specific questions on topics are most welcome.
